The Wright Price Guide for the Reel Man, Supplement & Value Guide
-
Volume 1 - 2006
by Ben Wright
In case you’ve
been living in a cave and haven’t noticed, reel collectors have been
collecting spinning reels in great numbers. Part of the popularity is
due to a current collector generation growing up using spinning
tackle; the funky models available tweaks those mechanically inclined;
and the seeming limitless supply of more common models. Spinning reels
are undoubtedly the most popular type of fishing reel collected today.
A large part of the interest in spinning reels is due to the research
and sharing of information by the author of this newest book, Ben
Wright. Without a thirst for knowledge of your subject, you might as
well collect baseball cards or Barbie dolls.
Wright’s new book is a supplement to his 2002
Third Edition of The Wright Price Guide
for the Reel Man, and adds historical data and updates prices
since 2002. There are detailed updates on many of the more popular
brands and some of the super-rare reels. Over 900 reels are included
that were not covered in the Third Edition and the values have been
updated on more than 800 other reels. In addition there are over 175
new photographs.
In short, if you are interested in spinning
reels, or fishing reel history, you should have this book in your
reference library.
Physically, the book is 8 ½ x 11 inches, 160
